Idak-Idak-Idak follows three generations of Sasak women - a daughter, her mother and her grandmother - and the Lombok treasure that the Netherlands took in 1894. The film moves between Indonesia and the Netherlands, combining full-spectrum cinematography with private recordings. In Sasak, "idak" means both heart and absence.

Before the screening, Kae Oktorina and christopher tym lead a workshop where you explore ways to embody the objects of the Lombok treasure - just as the film itself was created. No experience needed and you don't have to be an artist. The workshop is participatory: you take part, you don't just watch. There is room for ten people.

You may bring two things: a memory of your mother or grandmother (a story, an image, a gesture, a sentence, or something that simply stayed with you) and a small object that is a treasure to you - inherited, found, made by someone you love, or an everyday thing with a memory attached. Both are optional; you can also come empty-handed. A workshop ticket also gives access to the film screening.

The evening is part of Can you hear the objects speak?, a programme by Asian Movie Night and wysiwyg that stems from Beyond Provenance, a project that began with Indeks (Bandung).
