Salon of Queer Indoctrinations #6 - PUNKs — WORM, Rotterdam
Description was written before the event

The Salon of Queer Indoctrinations returns to WORM for its sixth edition, this time exploring the theme of PUNKs. The approach: working with artists who want to experiment, seek new directions in their practice, take risks - and, in the true spirit of queer culture, fail spectacularly.

For this evening, three punk queers (or queer punkers?) from the broader WORM community have been brought in as curators. Together they explore the long-standing connection between queer and punk culture through a programme of questioning, experimentation and collective play.

The artists presenting work that evening:

Lui Surreal (they/he)
Lui Surreal works at the intersection of visual art and music, with poetry and a punk DIY ethos as a starting point. Through performance and cinema, they make internal processes visible - themes such as love and addiction are translated into accessible, urgent language. Their multidisciplinary practice is directed at anyone resisting the everyday, aestheticized commodification of worlds, bodies and people.

Saddy (they/she)
Saddy is an illustrator, zine maker, improviser, singer, angry woman, bad writer, trash goblin, court jester and factotum.

Laariekoek / Lara de Moor (she/her)
Lara de Moor is a social designer, collector and all-round artist. Her working method can be summed up as: "I've never done that, so I'm sure I can." Collection and transience come together in her iterative, playful process in ever-changing ways.
