David van Rosmalen - If I Were You

David van Rosmalen was born over 16 million minutes ago. Since then, he has had questions - and he searches everywhere for answers. In his show "If I Were You", he takes the audience on a philosophical journey through his own life: he looks back at the choices that made him who he is today, and wonders whether he could have chosen differently. Can someone do what he wants, but also want what he wants?

Questions demand answers, answers demand words. David searches for the meaning of life with sentences full of meaningful nonsense - because without words you only find "ant", and that's no use to anyone. His approach combines wordplay, spoken word, piano songs and Dutch hip-hop.

David van Rosmalen studied psychology and philosophy and worked for years as a behaviour advisor in sustainability transitions. In 2025 he won the student, audience and jury prizes at the Leiden Cabaret Festival. De Volkskrant named him Comedy Talent of 2026.
