Aqueerius - Beyond The Ball

Collectief Aqueerius brings "Beyond The Ball" to Werkplaats Walhalla in Rotterdam on Saturday, 19 September. The production is a campy musical about Julie d'Aubigny, the 17th-century opera singer and rebel who defied social convention. Through humour and a critical eye, Aqueerius tells the story of this queer icon before the term existed - a duelist and coloratura who fought for freedom both with her voice and her sword at the court of Louis XIV. This is one of two Dutch dates for the collective; after Rotterdam, Aqueerius performs on 4 October in Ede.
