Demo Club Bandnight: Auks + Jonever

Auks is the project of 19-year-old singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Auke Janssen from southern Netherlands. He combines synths, guitar, bass and drums into distinctive songs about everyday life, boredom and the small moments of a teenage bedroom.

His musical journey began at age ten, when he decided at the Bruis festival in Maastricht that the bassist was the coolest person on stage. With birthday money he bought a bass guitar and took lessons from Jan Knooren. Through Kumulus he soon played in a student band. In 2023 he saw Mac DeMarco live, taught himself guitar, bought a synth and moved his father's drum kit into his bedroom. There he wrote an album and brought together a group of musicians from Maastricht and the surrounding area.

On 23 November, Auks presents a first glimpse of this new music at Muziekgieterij - the place where his love of music once began. Also on the programme: Jonever.
