Sunday Sessions | Mr. Tambourine Man: A Tribute to Bob Dylan
On Sunday, December 6, guitarist and singer-songwriter Hans Sligter takes the stage at Sunday Sessions with his Bob Dylan tribute show "Mr. Tambourine Man: A Tribute to Bob Dylan".
Sligter is best known as the "S" of The LSB Experience, a band from the Gooi region that has performed both domestically and internationally over the past twelve years with west-coast-oriented rock. With that band he recorded six albums, including "The Experience" (2014), fully recorded and produced in Cincinnati. He is also active in Music Road Pilots (modern country) and Marathon Men (classic rock), and works as a solo artist and producer. At Xinix he is known as guitarist and vocalist of Mirage, the Fleetwood Mac tribute.
About his Dylan show, Sligter says: "Bob Dylan is one of the artists who formed the musical backdrop of my youth. I remember how my parents sang his songs in the early 1970s, with my father also playing guitar. The Times They Are A Changing, Blowing in the Wind, With God on our Side - I grew up with these songs and Dylan's albums in our record collection. Over the years I have maintained a steady collection of his songs in my solo repertoire. His influence on contemporaries like The Beatles, The Byrds, Joni Mitchell, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and Jimi Hendrix, and on more modern artists like Jeff Buckley, Ed Sheeran and Billie Eilish, is undeniable. A considerable number of his songs achieved their greatest fame through covers by other artists - Jimi Hendrix, The Band, Eric Clapton, Guns & Roses and Adele - confirming Dylan's relevance again and again. In recent years there has fortunately been renewed recognition of his legacy, including through the Nobel Prize in Literature (2016) and the film A Complete Unknown (2024)."
In the show, Sligter, armed with only an acoustic guitar and harmonica, takes a tour through Dylan's body of work: alongside the classic hits, a number of deep album cuts are also featured.
