Diederik Nomden — Theater De Liefde, Haarlem

After four solo albums in English, concluded by his theatre tour Roots, Diederik Nomden switches to his native language. His Dutch-language song Oldambt - about the East Groningen region where he grew up - proved to be a highlight in Roots, and night after night audiences urged him to create a performance and album in Dutch.

In 2019, Nomden already wrote a handful of Dutch-language songs for, among others, the theatre play Hanna by Hendrik. The illness and death of his father Jan in 2020 also inspired him to write new songs. In his programme Vers, he performs songs from his first, eponymous Dutch-language album, supplemented with a personal selection of highlights from Dutch pop history - presented in his characteristic storytelling style: both engaging and lighthearted.

Nomden has been active since the nineties as a singer, keyboardist and guitarist, including with Redivider, Johan and Daryll-Ann. He played in the backing band of Bertolf and Ellen ten Damme, and was asked to join The Analogues in 2014. With that band he toured at home and abroad and performed in venues such as the Ziggo Dome.
