Globe Autumn School - Traverso Masterclass with Benedek Csalog — Heuvellaan Hilversum, Hilversum
Description was written before the event

From 16 to 18 October 2026, the Globe Autumn School takes place at Heuvellaan Hilversum, this year dedicated to German flautist, composer and flute maker Johann Joachim Quantz (1697-1773). Quantz was the flute teacher of Prussian King Frederick the Great, and his treatise on the flute remains an important source in historically informed performance practice. Professional and amateur (block) flautists and makers gather to discuss Quantz as composer and maker, and his significance for the performance of 18th-century music.

The programme includes lectures, masterclasses, open sessions, an instrument market, a concert, a forum discussion and an introductory traverso workshop for secondary school students. The working language is English.

This ticket grants the right to active participation in the masterclass and access to all other activities. The masterclass is intended for soloists at the level of professional musician, advanced student or experienced amateur. The repertoire to be performed is a solo sonata by Johann Joachim Quantz, at pitch A=415 Hz. A professional harpsichord accompanist is available. Each active participant receives two lessons of 45 minutes each.
