Mckenzie Ellis, the artist behind Mothica, performs on Valentine's Day at Melkweg - and it won't be a romantic evening. She presents her new EP 'Somewhere In Between', showcasing a louder and heavier sound than before.

On singles like 'WEAPON', 'Save Your Roses' and 'Evergreen Misery', she combines darkpop with rock and metal. For the EP she collaborated with Elliot Polokoff (Drop Dead Gorgeous), Curt Martin (Catch Your Breath) and Zach Jones (The Home Team, Scene Queen, Fever 333). 'Evergreen Misery' is influenced by her love of metalcore and bands like Nine Inch Nails, Bring Me The Horizon and Evanescence.
