Ripe

Ripe are funk rockers from Berklee - the world's most prestigious conservatory - but you wouldn't know it watching them perform. No marketing strategy, no military rehearsals: just building a party, and they've turned it into an art form.

Their first songs were born in the basement of a Subway sandwich shop. Half a year later they were flying off the shelves, the hobby project became a full-time job, and the beat-up van gave way to a tour bus - but the party spirit stayed intact.

Five albums and countless shows later, they still take the stage with the same energy: a bunch of friends who love nothing more than having a blast together, and who happen to be damn good at it. Their sound moves somewhere between funk and rock - complex and super-catchy at once. In De Helling, that feels like the Subway basement where it all started.
