The Starclubbers (Beatles Tribute) (Brazil)
The Starclubbers is a Brazilian Beatles tribute band from Rio de Janeiro and Vitória, formed in 2012. The lineup features guitarists and singers Fernando Duarte and Gabriel Abaurre Amaral, drummer and singer Felipe Coe - now based in London and Berlin - and Hummeloër Patric Roes. The four met in 2014 at the Beatles festival 'Abbey Road on the River' in Louisville (USA), where The Starclubbers performed and Roes played with his Dutch band 'Day Trippers'.
Their repertoire covers The Beatles' work, the music that inspired them, and the solo work of band members after The Fab Four disbanded. The name references the legendary Star-Club in Hamburg, where The Beatles regularly performed in the early 1960s. The Starclubbers have appeared five times at 'International Beatles Week' in Liverpool, most recently in August 2018 in their current lineup; they also played there in 2019, 2022 and 2023. Since 2014 they have been annual guests at 'Abbey Road on the River', and in May 2023 they will perform there again.
As preparation for that festival, The Starclubbers come to the Netherlands in early February for a rehearsal weekend with two performances. One of them is at Rockcafé Taste in Groenlo.
