Mannarino is regarded as one of Italy's most important singer-songwriters today, with a legacy rooted in artists like Paolo Conte and Fabrizio De André. His early albums contain songs that have become classics, such as "Me so' mbriacato", "Statte Zitta" and "Vivere la vita".

His music is distinctive and eclectic: Italian folk music forms the foundation, enriched with influences from Balkan and Roma music, references to Fellini and circus-like elements.
