Zar the Star

Zar the Star is a stand-up comedian and content creator based in New York City, born in Tajikistan to an Afghan father and raised in Toronto. Her Muslim identity and rich cultural background form the core of her comedy: personal, sharp, and unfiltered.

She draws from her life as a refugee, as a woman of color, and as a chronic overthinker. Her material ranges from viral prank calls and character sketches to exposing scammers and discussing generational trauma - always with humor as her weapon.

With nearly 1,000,000 followers on social media, she has built a large audience. In Rotterdam, she performs at Comedy Club Haug.
