David Nihill

Irish comedian and author David Nihill brings his brand-new show Taking Tangents to Comedy Club Haug following a sold-out world tour.

Nihill grew up in Dublin and left at age 22 to explore the world - and hasn't stopped since. He has lived and worked in twelve countries and visited more than eighty. His shows draw from those travels: cultural observations, attempts at language study, international drinking nights, and life as a slightly bewildered immigrant.

He won the prestigious San Francisco Comedy Competition - a contest whose previous finalists include Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres, and Dana Carvey - and finished as runner-up in the largest US Grandslam of The Moth. His debut special Documented premiered in 2019 on Dry Bar Comedy, followed by Cultural Appreciation in 2022 and the award-winning Shelf Help in 2025. He has appeared on TED.com, Sirius XM, Just For Laughs, the Netflix is a Joke Festival, and RTE's Late Late Show. His videos have gone viral multiple times with over 1 billion views, and he has more than 2 million followers on social media.
