About: Azymuth

For over fifty years this Brazilian trio has played its distinctive blend of jazz, funk and samba - a sound that has left a lasting mark on both the acid jazz scene and the dance world. With the new album *Marca Passo* (2025) and bassist Alex Malheiros as the sole surviving founder, Azymuth show that their 'samba doido' has lost none of its force.

*Marca Passo* is the first full studio album since the death of founding drummer Ivan 'Mamão' Conti in 2023, featuring a tribute to him in the song 'Samba Pro Mamão'.
