Luis (Sergi López) travels with his young son Esteban (Bruno Núñez Arjona) to an illegal rave deep in the South Moroccan desert, searching for his daughter Mar who disappeared at such a party months earlier. When every trace of her leads to a group of ravers heading deeper into the desert, they follow them - beginning a physical and spiritual journey accompanied by the soundtrack of Kangding Ray.

Sirat is directed by Spanish filmmaker Oliver Laxe (Mimosas) and was co-produced by Pedro Almodóvar's production company. Alongside Sergi López (Pan's Labyrinth, Lazzaro felice), Laxe worked primarily with an inexperienced cast. The film won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and is on the Oscar shortlist for Best International Film.
