Bluesbenefiet
On Sunday, 15 November, the 16th edition of the Steunpunt Benefit Show takes place at the Pit in Terneuzen, this year under the name "Johnny Roscoe Day". As with previous editions, a large group of musicians from the blues scene perform voluntarily, and all ticket proceeds go to charity.
Johnny Roscoe was a bluesman from Terneuzen and was part of The Blue Clay. Together with Wouter Verhelst, he performed at various blues festivals for the last 13 years of his life. This annual tribute keeps his spirit for the blues alive.
The proceeds benefit Stichting het Steunpunt, a volunteer organization that provides support and guidance to (former) cancer patients, chronically ill people and their loved ones - through a listening ear, information provision, peer contact, activities and workshops. Het Steunpunt also offers grief counselling under the name Rouwzorg Kanaalzone.
