Description was written before the event

In this three-day workshop led by Marte Visser, you will learn to observe and photograph more consciously. Over three sessions, you will go out from your own interests to capture a group of people or a community.

About the venue: Portugese Synagoge Amsterdam

The Portugese Synagoge on Mr. Visserplein is one of the best-preserved seventeenth-century synagogues in the world. Completed in 1675 for Amsterdam's Sephardic Jewish community, it still stands on its original foundations. The interior is lit entirely by hundreds of candles - electric light was never installed. Besides religious services, the building functions as a museum and hosts concerts and cultural events.
