On Saturday, 14 November, Cinetol and RAUW present the SITP Festival, dedicated to improvised music. Space is the Place, the organization behind the festival, has focused for years on progressive jazz and connecting genres and disciplines.
The line-up features the trio Marc Ribot x Farida Amadou x Ches Smith, performing together in Amsterdam for the first time after earlier jam sessions. Also on the programme are Run Into The Apocalypse, blending acoustic and electronic sounds, and Frank Rosaly's Ruidoscuro, a quartet alternating strict patterns with raw improvisation. Drummer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Jens Bouttery performs a solo set, and Nufaro experiments with sound design and unconventional arrangements within pop music.
