Yong Yello

Yong Yello is the alias of rapper and producer Yello Staelens, who blends Antwerp street rap with soul, funk and chanson. His debut album Marcel & Het Magnetisme Van De Goot quickly established him on major festival stages including Pukkelpop, Rock Werchter and Lokerse Feesten. Tracks like Cirkels, Waanzin and Luchtkasteel became fixtures in the collective consciousness, thanks to his sharp, narrative approach to writing about performance pressure, addiction, recovery and love.

Now he crosses the border again with his second concept album Bennie & De Banaliteit Van Ons Bestaan (2025), in which alter ego and workaholic Bennie struggles with his past, the grind of everyday life and a relationship crisis.

Live, Yong Yello performs with what he calls the 'Fanfare van de Goede Hoop' - a bombastic live presentation that OOR magazine has compared to Typhoon.
