Heerenhuyskamerconcert - Yiorgos Bereris Quartet
Heerenhuys, Dudok in het Park, Rotterdam
Greek pianist and composer Yiorgos Bereris returns to the Heerenhuys with his quartet. His music is rooted in the folk traditions of Greece and the Balkans, shaped by years of collaboration with musicians across Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean into an intimate, cross-cultural sound with lyrical storytelling.
Please note: this concert takes place in the Parkpaviljoen.
Bereris and his quartet perform music from his third album Sea In Common, written during travels along the Mediterranean and the Balkans. The work draws from festive music, urban sounds, natural soundscapes, and daily life, as well as encounters with people with whom he shared no common language but found a musical connection. Sea In Common follows his earlier albums Laros (2024) and Sigá y Silente (2025). Bereris has performed across Europe and the US as a solo artist and sideman at venues including the Athens Jazz Festival, Breda Jazz Festival, the Greek National Opera, Vortex in London, Jamboree in Barcelona, and Boston Conservatory Theater.
Line-up:
Yiorgos Bereris - piano
Yvonne Melissa - violin, viola
Lambros Papanikolaou - double bass
Ektoras Remsak - drums
The Heerenhuyskamerconcerten are part of the Park's programming in Rotterdam, alongside workshops, walks, poetry, and more.
