Betrayal leads to deception and destruction: Siegfried is tricked into betraying Brünnhilde, but when she discovers her beloved is innocent, she returns the ring to the Rhine Maidens and allows Walhalla to be consumed by flames.

In this long-awaited conclusion to Wagner's heroic epic, director Barrie Kosky places the apocalyptic drama in a contemporary world full of surreal unease. Antonio Pappano, Conductor Laureate of The Royal Opera, returns for this production.
