On Thursday, 10 September at 20:00, Library De Groene Venen in Cultuurhuys De Kroon hosts the election of Waddinxveen's new village poet. The village poet serves as the poetic ambassador of the village for two years, bringing colour to special moments, events and developments in Waddinxveen through poetry.

Want to participate? Submit a poem before 7 September 2026, along with a brief explanation of your connection to Waddinxveen. You don't need to live there, but involvement with the village is required. Register at programmering@bibliotheekdegroenevenen.nl.

Those who haven't registered in advance can also participate spontaneously on the evening itself, time permitting. The new village poet will be officially installed on Saturday, 12 September during WadCultureel.
