Opening Concert: Shostakovich 5

The Concertgebouworkest opens the season on Sunday, 13 September at Concertgebouw De Vereeniging in Nijmegen with Shostakovich's Fifth Symphony. This is the first of three Dutch concerts the orchestra performs this autumn. Concertgebouw De Vereeniging is Nijmegen's principal venue for classical music, housed in an early twentieth-century building with a large concert hall renowned for its excellent acoustics. The orchestra presents one of the most compelling symphonies in the classical repertoire.
