The Practice of Solidarity — Theater Utrecht, Utrecht
Description was written before the event

Worldwide, more and more cultural institutions and arts centres are speaking out against Israel's apartheid regime and actively breaking their institutional, cultural, commercial and political ties with it.

Theater Utrecht has recently become an Apartheid Free Zone, joining the international BDS campaign (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions). Inspired by the global struggle against apartheid in South Africa, the campaign is active in countries including Belgium, the United Kingdom, Chile, the United States, Morocco, Switzerland, Brazil, Greece, Norway, Spain and Italy.

On 2 September, Theater Utrecht organises an evening exploring what it means to refuse complicity and build solidarity with Palestinians experiencing genocide. What does solidarity look like in practice? What challenges do you encounter, and how can you support each other - personally and as an organisation?

The evening begins with a shared meal prepared by Zahia Hamad. There is space to share experiences, ask questions and explore concrete ways of taking action together. The programme is in Dutch, English and Arabic. Everyone is welcome, whether you have been involved for years or simply want to learn more.
