Said Laughs with Love | Said el Hassnaoui (try-out)

In 'Said Laughs with Love', Said el Hassnaoui reflects on his life as a carefree single - "never had children" - until he crowned himself the century's most chronically exhausted father. Along the way come awkward Tinder dates, relatable blunders and break-ups that turned out to be funny in hindsight. As a former marriage registrar, he knows from personal experience: love is often a mess, and that makes excellent cabaret material.

Singles are warned: there's a real chance Said will marry you off on the spot and send you out with a new flame.

Said el Hassnaoui, also known as WestSaid, won the Comedy Slam and the UICF Talent Award in 2014. In 2024 he reached the final of the Leiden Cabaret Festival, after which he toured the country with the other finalists. The press was enthusiastic: the Volkskrant called him "an engaging crowd-pleaser with a twinkle in his eye", Het Parool wrote "you can really see people here we'll be hearing a lot from", and the jury of the Leiden Cabaret Festival praised his "disarming storytelling voice, beautiful singing, funny physicality and infectious energy".
