Checkin' Out (1980s Rock)

Checkin' Out performs 1980s rock from Dutch bands: Vitesse, Herman Brood, Powerplay, Golden Earring, Diesel, Vandenberg, Fatal Flowers, Time Bandits and more. The band's name is also the title of a Herman Brood song - which naturally features on the setlist. Occasionally they venture into an earlier or later period, but always Dutch bands and sometimes even Dutch-language songs.

The band was formed in 2020 on the initiative of guitarist Marco Metselaar (including The Relic and The Poolmen). He recruited bassist Sjaak Tuijn, drummer Carlo Hienkels and keyboardist/guitarist Erwin Kollaard. In 2025, singer Faake Lammers joined the group. The band members play and have played in Paperplane, Mindfield, Heartburn, The Heavy Few, Makin' Magic, de Hunkemänner, Outcast and other bands.
