KUDO Evening (Come Out of the Rehearsal Room) - 3 Bands
Rockcafé Taste, Groenlo · € 5 inclusief 1 consumptiemunt
KUDO stands for Come Out of the Rehearsal Room: evenings where bands gain stage experience, try out new material, or present themselves to a live audience. Doors open at 20:00, show starts at 21:00. Entry € 5 including one drink voucher.
Advance tickets online: € 4 (excluding service fees, including VAT and Buma/Stemra royalties). At the door, while not sold out: € 7.50. Tickets are transferable and non-refundable unless the show is cancelled - in that case we will first look for an alternative date, for which tickets remain valid.
Three bands perform this evening:
De Gieser Wildemannen (active since autumn 2000) play what they call "fun punk rock": solid guitar work that's easy to sing along to. Influences range from Toy Dolls and The Undertones to Green Day and Zangeres Zonder Naam. The band has an extensive track record: performances at Nighttown, Bibelot, de Boerderij, Het Paard and Het Kasteel, festival appearances at Tofpop, Honkpop and the IO-Festival, and finals and semi-finals of Speel jij op Parkpop?, the Mikado Awards and the Grote Prijs van Zuid-Holland. They have played with Face Tomorrow, The Apers and Osdorp Posse, and appeared on TV West, VPRO 3voor12 and Radio West.
LYSSA is an indie/garage band centred around singer/guitarist Marten Junior de Munck Mortier and drummer Steef Tomas, active since 2003. The current line-up - with lap steel guitar and organ - recorded the album Wishful Thinking Train at New Tone Studios in Zwolle, largely performed live.
Dance Like Audrey is a four-piece rock band playing original songs, with references to Pearl Jam, Dinosaur Jr, Neil Young and Smashing Pumpkins. The band has released a first recording of original material and built up a repertoire of around 90 minutes.
