EIGEN WERK IN UITVOERING with: THE SHAKA WIZ (Delightful Danceable Funk)

Under the banner Eigen Werk In Uitvoering, Rockcafé Taste presents six times a year a stage for bands with original material - no cover bands, no standard commercial programming, but original music by young and established artists. This happens in collaboration with the Alliantie Muziekcafés quality mark (www.alliantiemuziekcafes.net).

This edition features The Shaka Wiz, a funk band with an infectious groove. Their repertoire combines well-known classics such as The Chicken, Stolen Moments and Papa's Got a Brand New Pigbag with original work rooted in the rich history of funk - from the raw energy of Sly & the Family Stone to the Afro-beats of Fela Kuti.

The Shaka Wiz consists of Martijn (guitar), Rick (bass guitar), JP (trumpet & guitar), Julio (percussion) and Sander (drums). You may know them from Café Classen in Arnhem, De Nieuwe Nor in Heerlen (supporting Defunkt) or De Kaaij in Nijmegen during the 4-daagsefeesten.

Tickets are available in advance online for € 10.00 (excluding service charges, including VAT and Buma/Stemra fees). At the door a ticket costs € 12.50, while stocks last.
