Who are you? And who do you become when you must flee your country, face the harsh sides of the world, and are seen as 'the other' by those around you?

In the theatre production As I Left My Father's House, three characters - with Christian, Jewish and Islamic backgrounds - each tell their own story. They speak about the raw reality of their struggle, their hope and their inner strength. Through monologues, poetic texts and live music, themes such as displacement, identity and the passing of stories to the next generation are explored.

The production is part of the As I Left Tour 2026 and will be shown at the Grote Kerk in Alkmaar.
