Fulu Miziki

Fulu Miziki hails from Kinshasa and creates music from literal waste: all instruments are handmade from found materials. On stage, band members appear behind self-made masks and costumes. Their sound combines punk, electronic textures, and industrial soukous - a style they describe as Afrofuturism. The name Fulu Miziki roughly translates to 'music of waste', capturing the heart of their message: every discarded object can have a new life, and art can stand for freedom and peace.

Since 2020 they have performed on European stages and run workshops for young people on music and recycling. Their debut EP Ngbaka came out in 2022, followed by Mokane in 2024.
