Biita Houdei

Biita Houdei is the new project of singer-songwriter Lisa Houdei, formerly known as LéPonds. She grew up in a bicultural Persian family and now lives in Woodstock, New York, where she blends her Persian heritage and American experiences into experimental folk. She taught herself guitar in an intuitive, self-directed way - and it shows: her style is unmistakably her own.

At this performance in Lab Grounds, she presents her latest album This Bed Was Made For Me. Her songs move between dreamy and intense, take unexpected turns, and alternate joy and sorrow with a certain ritualistic power. Listeners at home with Haley Heynderickx, Jessica Pratt, Fleet Foxes, or Grizzly Bear will find much to recognize here. As Biita Houdei - after three albums under her former name - she brings her strongest work to date.
