Rock-'n-Roll Christmas — De Piek, Vlissingen

For the Jingle Belles edition of Rock-'n-Roll Christmas, three bands take the stage at De Piek: GASOLINE, Wild May West and Thee Shithole Shakers. The evening celebrates rockabilly and rock-'n-roll, complemented by western swing, blues, country and garage rock - all three bands fronted by women.

GASOLINE travels from Brittany to Vlissingen. The four-piece band - three French musicians and an Englishman from Newcastle - features two lead singers who alternate vocals and blend into multi-part harmonies. Alongside tracks from their debut album, they perform six new songs previewing their second album, planned for spring or summer 2027. Since their formation in 2018, the band has played venues and festivals across France, Austria and the United Kingdom.

Wild May West is a well-established name in the Dutch rockabilly and blues scene. The Vlissingen-based band combines rockabilly and rock-'n-roll with a distinct blues influence, built on upright bass, guitars and drums. Their repertoire draws from The Paladins, The Seatsniffers, The Radio Kings, The Go-Getters and The Stray Cats. Frontwoman Marja Westdijk moves effortlessly between swinging rockabilly, driving rock-'n-roll and blues.

Thee Shithole Shakers close the evening with country, rock-'n-roll and garage rock. Their repertoire is influenced by Hank Williams, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Dave Edmunds, delivered with a raw, unpolished sound.
