Eddie and the Hot Rods (UK) — De Piek, Vlissingen

Eddie & The Hot Rods have built a career spanning over 40 years and are returning to De Piek for the fourth time - following performances in 1977, 1997 and 2007. Though often seen as pioneers of the punk era, their mission has always been straightforward: playing loud, fast, raw rock-'n-roll. That approach has never dated. The band was inducted into Mojo's Top 100 most influential bands and serves as inspiration for countless later acts.

Founder and frontman Barrie Masters passed away in October 2019 at age 63. The band's future was soon overshadowed by the Covid-19 pandemic, which halted live music for some 18 months. They ultimately chose to continue, with a new album and in respect of Barrie's memory.

The current line-up features Ian 'Dipster' Dean (vocals), Simon 'Basher' Bowley (drums), Richard Holgarth (guitar) and bassist Mic Stoner (ex-Chords UK). Dean, Bowley and Holgarth have formed the band's core for 25 years. The setlist combines classics like Teenage Depression, Quit This Town, Life On The Line, Gloria and the UK top 10 hit Do Anything You Wanna Do with tracks from their last three studio albums. These include material from Guardians of the Legacy (2023), which yielded the number 1 hit Paradise and three other singles that reached the top 5: New Frontier, A Million Miles and the title track.

The band recently toured the UK, Spain, France and Finland, and previously toured with Stiff Little Fingers (2019), Nine Below Zero (2021/22) and Status Quo (arena tour 2012). They also regularly perform alongside Dr Feelgood, Department S and The Members. Outside Europe, they completed a fifth American tour and toured Japan twice.
