Heerenhuis Chamber Concert - Paper Songs
Paper Songs, a collective of four musicians, presents new compositions inspired by Walt Whitman's poetry. Jazz, pop, soul and folk form the foundation for their debut album coming in spring 2027.
Vita Pagie is a Dutch singer and composer who graduated cum laude from the jazz programme at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2015. Her work spans jazz, soul, pop and Brazilian music, and she consistently seeks out connections between music and other art forms. With guitarist Jaime Nanoha she forms the duo Vita & Jaime, performing Brazilian repertoire ranging from João Bosco to Caetano Veloso. She also initiated the quartet Paper Songs, setting Walt Whitman's poetry to new compositions.
Vita Pagie performed with the quartet Greener Grass at the Klaterklanken festival, at locations such as Buitenplaats Elswout, Landgoed De Haere and Kasteel Rosendael.
The literary-musical performance 'Als je een landschap was', with the poetry of M. Vasalis set to music by Vita Pagie, pianist Kristján Martinsson and cellist Chieko Donker Duvis, premiered.
Vita Pagie and Jaime Nanoha released their debut album 'A Voz e o Violão', a collection of Brazilian compositions recorded after a series of living room concerts.
