Velocity Made Good
Velocity Made Good takes the stage at Cinetol. An evening with this band in Amsterdam.
Velocity Made Good is a Frisian duo - drummer Wytse Dijkstra and guitarist Thomas Venema - based in Groningen, carving out a niche in industrial dance-rock where synthesizers sound like guitars and vice versa. Raised on Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple but shaped by the electronic precision of LCD Soundsystem and Chemical Brothers, they built a reputation as one of the Netherlands' most intense live acts after their 2023 debut EP. ESNS nominated them for Talent of the Year at Popgala Noord, and 3voor12 named them a highlight of Popronde 2023.
VMG released the second single 'Coming Up Threes', the second taste of the EP 'Big Breakers' (16 October 2026) via label KERNCENTRALE.
The single 'Big Breakers' appeared on 8 May 2026 - the first VMG release with vocals, recorded with producer Josh Baxter from PVA in an abandoned school in Groningen.
The EP 'Big Breakers' is announced for 16 October 2026 and marks a new direction: VMG now explicitly calls itself a rock band.
VMG was on the ESNS 2025 line-up and toured through Scandinavia, following earlier tours through the Balkans and Portugal.
3voor12 called VMG one of the highlights of the Popronde 2023, after which ESNS nominated them for Talent of the Year at Popgala Noord.
😴 Nothing scheduled with this artist in the near future.
