Tyla
South African R&B and pop singer Tyla performs at AFAS LIVE.
Tyla (born 2002 as Tyla Laura Seethal) is a South African singer from Johannesburg who broke through globally in 2023 with 'Water', the first afropop song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Her debut album 'Tyla' (2024) earned her the inaugural Grammy for Best African Music Performance - a feat she repeated in 2026 with 'Push 2 Start'. Her second album 'A*Pop' (July 2026) and a 34-date world tour mark her arrival as a fully-fledged global headliner.
Tyla released her second studio album 'A*Pop' on July 24, 2026 via FAX/Epic Records, a project of 14 tracks featuring collaborations with Zara Larsson and Future, among others.
Tyla announced the A*Pop World Tour: 34 shows across Europe, the UK, North America and Africa, with a stop in Amsterdam (AFAS Live).
Tyla appeared on 'Game Time', the official single from the FIFA World Cup 2026 album, as a collaboration with rapper Future.
Tyla won the Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance for the second time, this time for 'Push 2 Start', at the 68th Grammy Awards.
Tyla released the EP 'WWP' (We Wanna Party), featuring the singles 'Bliss', 'Is It' and 'Dynamite' (with Wizkid), as a bridge to her second album.
