Minorie presents: Katya Shirshkova (RU/FR) + Tomáš Niesner (CZ)
Minorie hosts an evening blending folk and experimental music with Russian-French vocalist Katya Shirshkova and Czech guitarist Tomáš Niesner.
Tomáš Niesner is a Czech guitarist and sound artist from Brno, working at the intersection of fingerstyle guitar, ambient and experimental music. Drawing on personal landscapes and folk traditions, he builds slow, meditative sound worlds that balance contemplative stillness with hypnotic intensity. His 2022 album Bečvou - inspired by a 100 km walk along the ecologically devastated Bečva river - won the Vinyla Award for Album of the Year and received coverage from Pitchfork. He was previously active in the bands Unna and Vlněna and the duo Šimanský Niesner.
On August 11, 2026, Niesner released the collaborative album Plot with Mongolian khomus player Aldana Duoraan, via the Mappa label.
On November 30, 2025, adventus mmxxv appeared, a 25-part album based on medieval Rorate chants, recorded for the first time on a four-track cassette recorder.
Niesner won the Vinyla Music Award for Album of the Year with Bečvou; the award ceremony took place at the Lucerna Music Bar in Prague.
