EIGEN WERK IN UITVOERING with The Covenant
The Covenant, a veteran live band since 1988, plays original rock with theatrical and narrative elements at Rockcafé Taste. An evening full of energy and history.
The Covenant is a DIY rock band from Amsterdam, active since 1988. Over nine self-released albums and more than a thousand shows, they have opened for Pearl Jam, New Model Army and others, earning the tag "the last original Dutch underground band" from music magazine OOR. Their ninth album, *The Age of Rage* (2025), partly honours founding bassist Peter Stap, who passed away before its completion.
The ninth album *The Age of Rage* was released on 21 March 2025 as a self-release, in an edition of 777 numbered copies in a frame with a screen print inspired by the Amsterdam School.
The band went on an album tour through small venues in North Holland and North Brabant, with the world premiere of *The Age of Rage* at De Melterij in Wormerveer.
Music magazine Written in Music published a review of *The Age of Rage* and confirmed the band's reputation as a mainstay in the Dutch rock circuit.
The Covenant performed at the Belgian Hofrock festival in Larum and at Streetrock in Bakel as part of the summer festival season.
The band officially welcomed Erol Erdogan as the new bassist, as successor to founder Peter Stap who died in 2022.
