About

The Afghan Whigs are an American rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio, formed in 1986. They rose to prominence in the 1990s with a dark, soul-driven sound that blended alt-rock, R&B and post-punk - best captured on their landmark album Gentlemen (1993). After disbanding in 2001, they reunited in 2011 and have since released three acclaimed albums, culminating in their tenth studio record Soft Control (2026), released to mark their 40th anniversary.
