Sor is the stage name of Rosario Mussendijk (born 1996 in Hoorn), a rapper, producer and composer who grew up in Amsterdam-Zuidoost. He has been working with significant hearing loss since 2018, making music through synthesizers, a SubPac and a hearing aid. His three-part album Bae Doven, performed live with his own 58-piece (S)ORKest, won two Edison Awards in 2023 and sold out the Concertgebouw; he had previously won the TV conducting programme Maestro in 2022. His trap album INSOMNIA followed in January 2026.
Sor released his trap album INSOMNIA on January 8, 2026 via Noah's Ark, an album of 19 tracks that he recorded partly at night and in Atlanta.
3voor12 called INSOMNIA 'album of the day' and described it as a dark trap record on which Sor embraces his insomnia.
In August 2025, Sor performed at Lowlands with a new Sorkest project (Sorkest 2) in collaboration with the North Netherlands Orchestra.
In September 2024, Sor performed during the Opening Night of the Concertgebouworkest in the Nelson Mandela Park, together with conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada.
In 2024, Sor participated in the 24th season of Wie is de Mol? and reached the final, in which he narrowly lost to Fons Hendriks.
