Sjahin During (born 1972) is a Dutch-Turkish percussionist, composer and producer who spent his first six years in Istanbul before growing up on the North Sea island of Texel. He studied with masters in Cuba, Turkey, India and Africa, and commands a wide range of instruments from darbuka and riq to bata drums and kanjira. In 2005 he founded Mundus Productions in Amsterdam, the umbrella under which he has led ensembles including ARIFA and Afro Anatolian Tales to stages in more than fifty countries. His albums have earned five-star reviews and have repeatedly been named best Dutch world music release.
Afro Anatolian Tales performed the program 'Tarab Dance' at the Bimhuis in Amsterdam, with Iranian guest musicians Saghar Khadem and Avin Ahmadi.
Tarab Dance is the third production of Afro Anatolian Tales and is accompanied by an international album tour starting in 2026.
Afro Anatolian Tales performed in November 2025 in Haarlem (Matinee Mondial) and The Hague (Amare) as part of the Dutch tour with 'Tarab Dance'.
Afro Anatolian Tales had the premiere of 'Tarab Dance' on 26 October 2025 at the OBA Theater in Amsterdam, presented by the Yunus Emre Institute.
ARIFA's album 'Danubian Voyage' was named the best Dutch world music album of 2022 by MixedWorldMusic and received five stars from the Volkskrant.
