Simon Burke is the vocalist, keyboardist and producer fronting Melbourne soul band The Meltdown, which he co-founded with saxophonist Lachlan McLean. The band draws on southern soul, country, gospel and the Stax/Motown tradition, with Burke's voice at the centre. Following their 2017 debut and 'It's A Long Road' (2022), a live album and the EP 'Perseverance' (2025) have kept the momentum going, with the band now surpassing 150 million global streams.
The Meltdown released the EP 'Perseverance' on 31 October 2025 via Meltdown Music Pty Ltd / Warner Music Australia.
The single 'Nobody's Girl' appeared on 26 September 2025 as a precursor to the EP 'Perseverance'.
The Meltdown announced a tenth anniversary tour through the United Kingdom and Europe, with sold-out shows at venues including the Jazz Cafe in London.
The single 'It's Too Late' appeared in 2024 and became a favorite with audiences because of its raw, sincere performance.
The live album 'LIVE at the Nightcat' - recorded in Melbourne on 1 April 2021 - was released in July 2023 on vinyl, CD and all streaming platforms.
