Sandra Hüller (born 30 April 1978 in Suhl, East Germany) is a German actress trained at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. She broke through internationally with Toni Erdmann (2016) and cemented her reputation in 2023 with back-to-back Cannes titles: Anatomy of a Fall, which earned her an Oscar nomination and a César Award, and The Zone of Interest. In 2026 she has continued that run with Rose (Silver Bear, Berlinale), Fatherland directed by Paweł Pawlikowski (Best Director, Cannes), and a role in the sci-fi blockbuster Project Hail Mary opposite Ryan Gosling.
Sandra Hüller is announced as the lead actress in Work and Structure (Arbeit und Struktur), a film by Maria Schrader in which she plays male writer Wolfgang Herrndorf; filming starts in early 2027.
Digger, the satirical black comedy by Alejandro G. Iñárritu with Hüller alongside Tom Cruise, comes to cinemas on October 2, 2026 via Warner Bros. Pictures.
Fatherland by Paweł Pawlikowski, with Hüller as Erika Mann, wins the Best Director prize at the Cannes Film Festival and receives a five-minute standing ovation.
