Salmon On A Leash is a rock trio from Rotterdam, made up of Stijn van der Zalm (bass/vocals), Liam Hekkert and Daan Goedemans. Since 2021 they have blended modern rock, grunge and garage into a sound far bigger than three people. Their debut EP *Salmonidae* (2023) took them to stages including Patronaat, Vera, Bibelot and Eurosonic/Noorderslag. In March 2026 they released their debut album *SMOLT* - ten tracks about growing up, social pressure and identity, partly funded by 83 crowdfunders and released on vinyl.
The band performed an in-store concert at Free Music High Fidelity in Gouda during Record Store Day (April 2026), shortly after the release of *SMOLT*.
The release show of debut album *SMOLT* at V11 Rotterdam on 13 March 2026 was sold out weeks in advance.
Debut album *SMOLT* was released in March 2026 - ten tracks recorded at Raiko Records Studio in Waddinxveen, released on vinyl and digitally.
The recording of *SMOLT* was made possible in part by a crowdfunding campaign with 83 donors.
The band performed in November 2025 at Patronaat (Haarlem) and earlier that year at Bibelot (Dordrecht).
