strongboi
strongboi brings lo-fi disco and jazzy ballads to Melkweg, with support from Salami Rose Joe Louis.
Salami Rose Joe Louis is the project of American musician Lindsay Olsen, who grew up in San Diego and later settled in the Bay Area. She makes neo-psychedelic ambient bedroom pop - layered, hazy music that drifts between jazz, lo-fi and experimental electronics - producing almost everything on her Roland MV8800 sampler. Her albums, including the concept record 'Zdenka 2080' (2019) and her latest solo work 'Lorings' (2025), are released on Flying Lotus's Brainfeeder label.
Salami Rose Joe Louis released her solo album 'Lorings' on April 25, 2025 via Brainfeeder - her most personal record to date, made almost entirely on her Roland MV8800.
Pitchfork rated 'Lorings' with a 7.6 and described it as the work of an 'uncommonly inventive and endearing songwriter'.
Substream Magazine published a concert review in June 2025 of her performance at the Blue Note.
In September 2024 she surprisingly released the live EP 'Salami Live at 2131 North Kacey Street' via Brainfeeder, featuring reworked versions of songs from her catalog.
In April 2024 she released the collaborative album 'Sarah' together with guitarist/producer Flanafi.
