Rosanne Cash is an American country and Americana singer-songwriter, and the eldest daughter of Johnny Cash. She broke through in the 1980s with a string of country chart hits - her 1981 single '7 Year Ache' topped the country chart and reached the pop Top 30 - before evolving into a wide-ranging artist working across country, folk and rock. Her 2014 album 'The River & the Thread' won three Grammy Awards and debuted at number 11 on the Billboard 200. Beyond music, she is an acclaimed author; her memoir 'Composed' (2010) drew widespread praise, and in 2021 she became the first woman to receive the MacDowell Medal for music composition.
Rosanne Cash tours in October 2026 through Europe, with performances in Utrecht (Ramblin' Roots Festival), Eindhoven, Borgerhout, Stockholm and Oslo.
Cash released 'The Essential Collection', a double CD with 40 songs spanning her entire career from 1979 to 2021, including all ten of her number 1 hits.
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville dedicated a major solo exhibition to Cash: 'Rosanne Cash: Time Is a Mirror', which ran from December 2024 to March 2026.
Cash and her husband John Leventhal are working on the music for a theater production based on the film 'Norma Rae' (1979).
Cash and Leventhal founded RumbleStrip Records, their own label to re-release and remaster her early catalog.
