Roman Flügel (born 1970 in Darmstadt) is a German DJ, producer and label founder who has been a central figure in European electronic music since the early 1990s. Based in Frankfurt and later Berlin, he co-founded the influential labels Ongaku Musik, Klang Elektronik and Playhouse, and collaborated closely with Jörn Elling Wuttke in projects including Alter Ego and Acid Jesus. Across a string of aliases - Eight Miles High, Soylent Green and others - his output has ranged from acid techno and deep house to ambient and experimental electronics. His 2004 track "Geht's Noch?" became a crossover classic that brought him recognition well beyond the club circuit.
Flügel released the album 'Dusty Jukebox' through his own channels.
The single 'Tippex In My Eye' featuring vocalist PYTKO appeared in May 2026.
Running Back released the 21st anniversary edition of 'Geht's Noch?' in two parts (May and June 2025).
The 'No Solutions EP' appeared in November 2024 on Erol Alkan's label Phantasy Sound.
Flügel debuted on Phantasy Sound with the two-track release 'Hotel Karthago / Energies' in April 2024.
