Rawayana is a Venezuelan band founded in Caracas in 2007 by four school friends: vocalist/guitarist Alberto 'Beto' Montenegro, bassist Antonio 'Tony' Casas, drummer Andrés 'Fofo' Story and guitarist Alejandro 'Abeja' Abeijón. The group calls their sound 'trippy pop' - a blend of reggae, funk, psychedelic pop and Caribbean rhythms that defies easy categorisation. After years building a following across Latin America, they broke through internationally with ¿Quién Trae Las Cornetas?, which won the Grammy for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album in February 2025. The band now operates in exile after the Venezuelan government blocked their concerts at home following criticism of the Maduro regime.
Rawayana released their new album ¿Dónde Es El After? on January 1, 2026, an ambitious project of 23 tracks featuring guests such as Elena Rose and Servando & Florentino.
The band announced in March 2026 the North American and European legs of their ¿Dónde Es El After? World Tour, with shows in Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris and London, among others.
Rawayana received their first Grammy Award in February 2025 for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album for ¿Quién Trae Las Cornetas?
Rawayana released the joint album ASTROPICAL together with Colombian Bomba Estéreo on March 7, 2025, followed by an extensive joint tour.
The single 'Veneka' (feat. Akapellah), released on October 21, 2024, became Rawayana's biggest streaming debut on Spotify and reached number 1 position in Venezuela within 24 hours.
