Primitive Ring is a Los Angeles power trio formed in September 2024 by Charles Moothart (Fuzz, GØGGS), Bert Hoover (Hooveriii, Groop), and Jon Modaff (Hooveriii, Groop, Frankie and the Witch Fingers). Drawing on the West Coast underground, the band blends heavy psych, garage punk, and proto-metal into a raw, physical sound. After four 7-inch singles across four labels in 2025, they released their self-titled debut LP on In The Red Records in May 2026.
Primitive Ring released their self-titled debut album on May 15, 2026 via In The Red Records, with eleven tracks recorded in December 2025 in Echo Park.
At the album's release, the band shared a music video for the track 'The Callous Man', directed by Jenny Baumert.
